Student-managed investment course: A learner-centric approach to investment management

open access: yesCogent Economics & Finance, 2019
While there has been a rapid growth of business and management schools in India since 1990, the curricula, teaching methods and the mode of delivery largely remain an instructor-led approach overlooking the needs of learners and potential employers. This

Design Patterns for Fusion-Based Object Retrieval

open access: yes, 2017
We address the task of ranking objects (such as people, blogs, or verticals) that, unlike documents, do not have direct term-based representations. To be able to match them against keyword queries, evidence needs to be amassed from documents that are ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Experiments with Subversion Over OpenNetInf and CCNx [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We describe experiences and insights from adapting the Subversion version control system to use the network service of two information-centric networking (ICN) prototypes: OpenNetInf and CCNx.

Optimized Cell Planning for Network Slicing in Heterogeneous Wireless Communication Networks

open access: yes, 2018
We propose a cell planning scheme to maximize the resource efficiency of a wireless communication network while considering quality-of-service requirements imposed by different mobile services.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Formal approach to modeling of modern Information Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information Systems and Project Management, 2016
Most recently, the concept of business documents has started to play double role. On one hand, a business document (word processing text or calculation sheet) can be used as specification tool, on the other hand the business document is an immanent ...

A Document-Centric Approach to Open Collaboration Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Individuals collaborate with each other in groups in order to solve complex tasks or to jointly develop new solutions. The Web offers them a huge amount of data, information and services to be used as input to their collaboration. In our research we examine such creative and emergent open collaboration processes and their relationship to documents as a
