Breast cancer histopathology image analysis : a review
This paper presents an overview of methods that have been proposed for the analysis of breast cancer histopathology images. This research area has become particularly relevant with the advent of whole slide imaging (WSI) scanners, which can perform cost ...

Multiplicative calculus in biomedical image analysis [PDF]
We advocate the use of an alternative calculus in biomedical image analysis, known as multiplicative (a.k.a. non-Newtonian) calculus. It provides a natural framework in problems in which positive images or positive definite matrix fields and positivity ...

Feature Approach for Printed Document Image Analysis [PDF]
This paper presents advances in zone classification for printed document image analysis. It firstly introduces entropic heuristic for text separation problem. Then a brief recall on existing texture and geometric discriminant parameters proposed in a previous research is done.

How do genomes gain new functional parts? In eukaryotes, which tend to evolve under weak selection, much of the genome is junk. Palazzo and Qiu borrow the logic of Markov chains to show how non‐functional DNA becomes functional through the appearance of intermediate states, which arise due to epistasis, buffering, and biochemical messiness, allowing ...

Multiscale approach to image sequence analysis
In optic flow based velocity estimation the image brightness constraint equation is used. However, for measurements performed at a certain scale, the brightness constraint equation does not apply.

Leucine‐rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) is a ganglioside‐binding protein
Neuronal hyperexcitability associated with a decrease/absence of the extracellular protein LGI1 has been suggested to be primarily due to the downregulation of Kv1 channel expression. The molecular mechanisms underlying this decrease have not yet been elucidated.

Multi-scale Multi-attention Network for Moiré Document Image Binarization
In this paper, we propose a Multi-scale Multi-attention Network (MsMa-Net) to binarize document images contaminated by moiré patterns from camera-captured screens.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
