Line Segmentation of Handwritten Text Using Histograms and Tensor Voting

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2020
There are a large number of historical documents in libraries and other archives throughout the world. Most of them are written by hand. In many cases they exist in only one specimen and are hard to reach.

Safety and Effectiveness of a High‐Dose, Tailored Tissue Plasminogen Activator Therapy Protocol: A Joint Pediatric Hematology and Cardiac ICU Quality Improvement Initiative Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric thromboembolism is increasingly encountered in critical care. Systemic thrombolysis with tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) facilitates vessel or valve patency, yet pediatric‐specific protocols remain undefined, and safety concerns persist. Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a tailored, prolonged systemic tPA

A novel scheme for image rotation for document processing [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings 2000 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.00CH37101), 2000
Rotation of the binary image of a document page for correcting the skew in the case of OCR or signature verification systems entails disfigurement of the shape of the characters, which brings down the performance of the pattern classifier. An elegant algorithm is presented in this paper for distortion-free rotation.
