Full does not imply strong, does it? [PDF]
An important open question in the theory of natural dualities [cf. \textit{D. M. Clark} and \textit{B. A. Davey}, Natural dualities for the working algebraist. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (1998; Zbl 0910.08001)] is whether every full duality is strong. The paper shows that this is not true at the finite level.

High Charge Carrier Mobility in Non‐Conjugated 3D Covalent Organic Frameworks
A non‐conjugated 3D COF constructed via boronate ester linkages from tetraphenylene and pyrene‐based monomers is reported, which exhibits a high charge carrier mobility of 14 ± 1 cm2 V−1 s−1. ABSTRACT π‐Conjugation, π–π stacking, and long‐range order play a central role in determining charge transport efficiency in organic materials.

DoE-It-Yourself: A Case Study for Implementing Design of Experiments into Nanoparticle Synthesis
Predictable and repeatable outcome is a major issue in nanoparticle synthesis. Traditionally, chemists rely on the one-factor-at-a-time method to investigate and optimise synthetic processes; however, this method is inefficient and often misleading ...

Assessment of costs and benefits of flexible and alternative fuel use in the US transportation sector [PDF]
In 1988 the Department of Energy (DOE) undertook a comprehensive technical analysis of a flexible-fuel transportation system in the United States. During the next two decades, alternative fuels such as alcohol (methanol or ethanol), compressed natural ...

Evidence for Itinerant Ferromagnetic Flat Bands Producing Large Transverse Responses
Itinerant ferromagnetic flat bands are demonstrated in GdCo5 with a high Curie temperature of 940K, a stacked honeycomb–kagome lattice, through angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and magneto‐thermoelectric measurements. These topological flat bands generate large Berry curvaturte, producing gigantic anomalous Nernst effect with record‐high ...

Systemic signaling contributes to the unfolded protein response of the plant endoplasmic reticulum
The unfolded protein response (UPR) maintains cellular function under ER stress. While typically considered cell autonomous, here Lai et al. show that in Arabidopsis the UPR also has a systemic component triggered by intercellular movement of at least ...
