Unraveling the Genomic Architecture of Supernumerary (Iso‐)Dicentric Chromosomes in Dup15q Syndrome: Insight From a Systematic Literature‐Based Study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chromosomal aberrations, particularly copy‐number variations (CNVs), are prevalent in neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) and significantly contribute to their pathogenesis. Copy‐number gains (CN gains) in 15q11‐q13, primarily consisting of a pseudo (iso‐)dicentric chromosome 15 [(i)dic(15)] or an interstitial duplication, are among the most ...

Reversing Lanmodulin's Metal‐Binding Sequence in Short Peptides Surprisingly Increases the Lanthanide Affinity

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Accidentally reversing the lanthanide‐binding sequences of lanmodulin‐inspired short peptides lead to the serendipitous discovery of a set of peptides with a one order of magnitude higher lanthanide‐binding affinity than the uncapped peptides synthesised in the correct direction.

Intranasal Wharton's Jelly‐Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy, Alone or in Conjunction With Therapeutic Hypothermia, Alleviates Neonatal Hypoxic‐Ischemic Brain Injury in Mice

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that intranasal Wharton's jelly‐derived mesenchymal stem cell (WJ‐MSC) administration at 3 or 10 days post‐insult reduced the lesion size and sensorimotor impairment following neonatal hypoxic‐ischemic (HI) brain injury in mice. WJ‐MSCs expressed receptors for HI‐upregulated chemokines and migrated from the nasal cavity into the

Na2Fe3(SO4)4: A Zero‐Strain Sustainable Positive Electrode Material for Na‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A new sustainable zero‐strain Na2Fe3(SO4)4 (NFS) positive electrode material is obtained by only ball‐milling from cheap and available Na2SO4 and FeSO4. Iron coordination polyhedra include the Fe2O11 dimer of distorted octahedra (active during cycling) and FeO5 trigonal bipyramid, similar to that in the relative Pbca‐Na2Mn3(SO4)4 (NMS).
