THREE NEW WESTERN DOLICHOPODIDAE

Three species of flies are here described as new. The material was collected in Utah, Idaho, and Colorado, with one specimen from South Dakota.Argyra condomina n. sp.Male. Length, 3.8 mm.; length of wing, 3.5 mm. Face silvery pollinose, short. leaving the lower corners of eyes sharply exposed, considerably narrowed on lower portion.

Six species are for the first time shown for the Caucasus, one of them - Asydnetus varus Loew-is new for the USSR. Syntormon latitarsis Negrobov et Shamshev, sp. n. differs from all other Palearctic representatives of the genus by dilated mid- and hind-tibial segments. Type-material: 4, including holotype.

S. mediterraneus B u l l i et N e g r o b o v, sp. n.- differs in simple feet, partly yellow antennae, dark hypopygium, partly yellow abdomen, short honopodes and long dorsal hypopygial projections. T y p e - Io c a I i t y: Ukraine, Molochny Liman Estuary shore; 2 paratype males are from S. Armenia and Uzbekistan.

As a result of studying the fauna of Medeterinae subfamily new and little known species of Medetera genus were found in the USSR: M. abstrusa Thuneb. , M. belgica P ?? ??., M. breviseta P ?? ??., M. flavipes M g., M. impigra Coll. , M. jugalis Co 11., M. longicauda Beck., M. striata Par. The status of M. striata Par . species is established.
