Rainfall‐Runoff Modeling in Rocky Headwater Catchments for the Prediction of Debris Flow Occurrence
Abstract In the Dolomites, steep rocky cliffs are marked by numerous narrow gullies. When high‐intensity short‐duration precipitation occurs, these gullies concentrate and direct surface runoff to the screes at the foot of rock cliffs. Surface runoff mixes with loose sediments, creating a solid‐liquid surge that, as it moves downhill, increases its ...

ABSTRACT Re di Castello is the southernmost unit of the composite Adamello batholith (central Alps, Italy). It was emplaced between 43 and 40 Ma, yet its depth of emplacement is not well constrained. We have studied the contact metamorphism of pelitic country rocks in two localities: the upper Caffaro Valley and the Borzago Valley in the southern and ...

Probabilistic Identification of Debris‐Flow Pathways in Mountain Fans Within a Stochastic Framework
Abstract Debris flows are solid‐liquid mixtures originating in the upper part of mountain basins and routing downstream along incised channels. When the channel incises an open fan, the debris flow leaves the active channel and propagates downstream along a new pathway. This phenomenon is called an avulsion.

Abstract Syn‐rift extensional faults play a significant role during the early stage of rifting. Constraining the age of faulting, and how and when deformation shifts from the proximal to the distal margin areas, is crucial for the reconstruction of the rifting process. Previous assessments of the structural and temporal evolution of rift‐related faults
