A restoration strategy to promote tree establishment in mining‐polluted rocky outcrops using bryophytes

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Introduction Mining activities can lead to the formation of degraded, barren, or metal‐contaminated ecosystems. Resource‐poor ecosystems such as rocky outcrops are more sensitive to mining degradation, and their natural regeneration can be challenging due to soil erosion, lack of resources or seeds, and soil acidification.

Protracted intercontinental aridification preserved within the early Late Cretaceous strata of the Eastern Gobi Basin, Mongolia

open access: yesSedimentology, Volume 73, Issue 1, Page 147-185, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Mongolia's Eastern and Western Gobi Basins preserve a globally significant record of Cretaceous terrestrial vertebrates, yet their biostratigraphic correlations are complicated by a complex geological history. The Eastern Gobi Basin, a northeast‐southwest trending fault‐bounded rift system, includes several minor sub‐basins with distinct ...

Factors Influencing the Oxygen Isotopes of Grape Berry Water: Some Remarks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Several chemical and isotopic methods have been suggested for tracing the wine origin in relation to the climate/meteorological conditions of the vineyard areas. IRMS (Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer) is one of these tools. In the Oltrepò Pavese (Lombardia Region, Pavia Province, Italy) and in the Illasi/Mezzane areas (Veneto Region, Verona Province ...

Pore Geometry and Its Influences on Methane Adsorption in Shale Gas Reservoirs: A Case Study of Longmaxi Shale in the Da’an Area, Chongqing, China

open access: yesJournal of GeoEnergy, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Understanding pore structure and methane sorption (MS) in shale gas reservoirs is critical for accurately estimating gas‐in‐place and prospective natural gas resources. The Longmaxi Shale, a leading formation for deep shale gas development in China, faces challenges in its economic production due to its strong spatial heterogeneity, complex pore ...
