Estimation of Dolomite Formation: Dolomite Precipitation and Dolomitization
Journal of the Geological Society of India, 2016Abstract: Reactive-transport models are developed here that produce dolomite via two scenarios: primary dolomite (no CaCO3 dissolution involved) versus secondary dolomite (dolomitization, involving CaCO3 dissolution). Using the available dolomite precipitation rate kinetics, calculations suggest that tens of meters of thick dolomite ...

Chapter 7 Dolomites and Dolomitization
1979Publisher Summary This chapter discusses dolomites and dolomitization. There are numerous kinds of dolomite. According to numerous investigators, primary precipitation of dolomite crystals, particularly in marine environments, probably represented in Holocene carbonate sediments, is of little significance when considering the great bulk of ancient ...

Dolomitization, Dolomite Distribution, Reservoir Rocks: ABSTRACT
AAPG Bulletin, 1970Approximately 80% of the hydrocarbon reserves in carbonate rocks in North America are found in rock that is essentially pure dolomite. In many reservoirs the field limits are determined by the distribution of dolomite, because the dolomitization process is conducive to the production of a favorable reservoir rock.

II.—Dolomitization and the Leicestershire Dolomites
Geological Magazine, 1918In the district north of Ashby-de-la-Zoueh dolomitized Carboniferous Limestone crops out where the Leicestershire border adjoins that of South Derbyshire. The dolomites, which attain a thickness of nearly 900 feet in this area, have hitherto received very little attention.
