Survey of the diagenesis process and effect these process on reservoir quality of the Kangan formation in South Pars Field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Kangan and Upper Dalan formations are forming reservoir sequence of the South Pars field. Litology of the kangan formation is carbonate and (limestone and dolomite with anhydrite intervals), so digenetic processes were very active in this formation and ...

Exergy‐Based Simulation and Optimization of Multiagent MSW Gasification for Sustainable Energy Recovery Using Aspen Plus

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Thermochemical gasification is one of the most efficient methods for producing solid waste synthesis gas. Therefore, to predict and analyze the process of gasification of municipal solid waste (MSW) in a downdraft fixed‐bed gasification reactor with a thermal capacity of 2.1 kW, a comprehensive numerical modeling approach based on Gibbs free ...

The origin of heterogeneous sucrosic dolomite reservoir of the lower Permian Qixia Formation, NW Sichuan Basin, China

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2023
Sucrosic dolomite, an important hydrocarbon reservoir, has long been the focus of carbonate sedimentological and reservoir geological studies. This study investigated a kind of heterogeneous sucrosic dolomite in the Lower Permian Qixia Formation of NW ...

Mineral reconnaissance at the Highland boundary with special reference to the Loch Lomond and Aberfoyle areas [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Serpentinite bodies at the Highland Boundary in the Loch Lomond and Aberfoyle areas are extensively altered to magnesite-quartz and ferroan-dolomite-quartz rocks. Silicification was probably initiated before conversion to carbonate.

A Reproducible SEM Surface Imaging Protocol for Monitoring Microstructural Changes During Gas–Rock Interactions

open access: yesGreenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Reliable characterization of mineralogical and textural changes in rock samples is essential for understanding fluid–rock interactions, particularly in experimental studies simulating subsurface conditions. This study presents a reproducible protocol for scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis of rock surfaces before and after exposure to ...

Evidence From Microscopy and U–Pb Geochronology as a Clue to the Influence of the Cretaceous Magmatism in the Diagenesis of Pre‐Salt Carbonate Reservoirs in the Santos Basin (Brazil)

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.

Genetic mechanism of dolomite in third member of Maokou Formation in Middle Permian, southeastern Sichuan Basin

open access: yesShiyou shiyan dizhi
Dolomite formation is a crucial aspect of natural gas reservoirs in the marine strata of the Sichuan Basin, particularly in the exploration of deep carbonate reserved oil and gas resources. Understanding the genetic mechanism of dolomite is essential for
