Dual function of the transcription factor Ftz‐f1 on oviposition in the cockroach Blattella germanica

open access: yesInsect Molecular Biology, Volume 32, Issue 6, Page 689-702, December 2023., 2023
Ftz‐f1 has two expression peaks in the ovaries of Blattella germanica, which carry out different functions, as revealed by RNAi experiments. In the adult ovaries, Ftz‐f1 maintains the cell cycle and the levels of endoreplication in the follicular cells, promoting ecdysone production at the end of the gonadotrophic cycle.

Childhood obesity: Implications on adipose tissue dynamics and metabolic health

open access: yesObesity Reviews, Volume 24, Issue 12, December 2023., 2023
WAT development from intrauterine life to adulthood. White adipose tissue (WAT) depots develop during gestation and early life from mesenchymal stem cells, which then firstly commit to the adipocyte lineage followed by terminal differentiation of adipocyte progenitor cells (APCs) into adipocytes.

Radiographic and histopathological study of gastrointestinal dysmotility in lipopolysaccharide‐induced sepsis in the rat

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, Volume 35, Issue 10, October 2023., 2023
Here we studied radiographically in conscious rats the effects of sepsis induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on gastrointestinal motility, and assessed the accompanying histological damage caused by the endotoxin in different tissues. Gastric emptying was intensely delayed at all doses, but the intestine was affected in a dose‐ and time‐dependent ...

Does colonization with MRSA, ESBL – producing Enterobacteriaceae, and/or Acinetobacter baumannii – increase the risk for postoperative surgical site infection?

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 9, Issue 2, Page 729-737, March 2023., 2023
The study evaluated the role of indicator pathogens in equine wound infection and other infection‐promoting factors. Included in the study were injured horses and horses that required colic surgery. Mucosal Interleukin‐10 depletion in steroid‐refractory Crohn's disease patients

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 10, Issue 10, October 2022., 2022
(1) Increased messenger RNA and protein lL‐10 levels in intestinal mucosa is a shared immunological response of both active Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis. (2) CD patients showed a particular Interleukin‐10 (IL‐10) pattern related to steroid response, with depletion of IL‐10 at mucosal compartment in steroid resistant patients and ...
