Patient‐reported chronic pain after open inguinal hernia repair with lightweight or heavyweight mesh: a prospective, patient‐reported outcomes study

This nationwide population‐based cohort study, with prospectively collected data from the Swedish Hernia Register on patient‐reported outcome measures assessed 1 year after open anterior mesh inguinal hernia repair, demonstrated no differences in chronic pain rates between different lightweight and heavyweight meshes.
