A domain decomposition method for approximating the conformal modules of long quadrilaterals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
This paper is concerned with the study of a domain decomposition method for approximating the conformal modules of long quadrilaterals. The method has been studied already by us and also by D Gaier and W K Hayman, but only in connection with a special ...

Copper Doping Enhances the Activity and Selectivity of Atomically Precise Ag44 Nanoclusters for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By a simple anti‐Galvanic reaction, up to six copper atoms could be preferably doped into the Ag2(SR)5 staple motifs and Ag20 dodecahedral shell of an atomically precise Ag44(SR)30 nanocluster. When anatase TiO2 is used as substrate, the (AgCu)44/TiO2 photocatalyst exhibited much improved activity in photocatalytic CO2 reduction compared to Ag44/TiO2 ...

Efficient Topology Optimization of Photonic Devices Using Domain Decomposition Finite Element Method

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
This paper presents a domain decomposition finite element method (DD-FEM) to accelerate topology optimization of photonic devices. In the proposed approach, the structure invariant region is precomputed and transformed into a reduced boundary conditions ...

Ambient Vibration Test of a 18-Story Reinforced Concrete Building

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
Ambient vibration analysis of a 18-story reinforced concrete building was carried out to investigate its dynamic properties. Ambient vibration test was conducted on the building, and modal parameters including natural frequencies and damping ratios were ...

Self‐supportive Three‐Way Photoelectrochemical System Achieving Uranium Recycling, Organic Oxidation, and Electricity Generation in Complex Waters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐sustaining solar photoelectrochemical cell (SS‐PEC) is developed to recover uranium from aqueous UO22+ with concurrent organic oxidation and electricity production. The monolithical photoanode directly captures electrons from organic compounds, leading to the oxidation of organic compounds and the decomposition of uranium‐organic complexes ...

On the numerical performance of a domain decomposition method for conformal mapping [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
This paper is a sequel to a recent paper [14], concerning a domain decomposition method (hereafter referred to as DDM ) for the conformal mapping of a certain class of quadrilaterals.

Engineering Porous Hollow Metal‐Poly(Heptazine Imide) Spheres: An Optimized Synthetic Strategy for Controlling Surface, Morphology, and Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hollow poly(heptazine imide) spheres are prepared through a novel approach that integrates hard templating with ionothermal synthesis. This method enables precise control over surface area, pore volume, hydrophilicity, light absorption, band position, and metal composition. These tunable properties facilitate the customized design of semiconductors for

Preconditioners for domain decomposition methods

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 2001
For solving nonsymmetric linear system, the Schur domain decomposition method proposes a dual approach of the Schur formulation. One constraint of this method is that its condition number increases with the amount of subdomains. In this paper, a family of parallel global preconditioners, which can alleviate the above constraint, are presented.
