Productivity‐Driven Optimization of Laser Powder Bed Fusion Parameters for IN718 Superalloy: Process Control, Microstructure, and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates how optimizing laser power, scanning speed, and hatching distance in laser powder bed fusion can boost the productivity of Inconel 718 manufacturing by up to 29% while maintaining mechanical integrity. The work delivers a validated process window and cost–time analysis, offering industry‐ready guidelines for efficient additive ...

Extrinsic pinning of magnetic domain walls in CoFeB-MgO nanowires with perpendicular anisotropy

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
In this work, we have studied the mechanism of domain wall motion in 0.2-1.5 μm wide nanowires based on Ta/CoFeB/MgO films with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy.

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Magnetic domain-wall motion by propagating spin waves [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2009
We found by micromagnetic simulations that the motion of a transverse wall (TW)–type domain wall in magnetic thin-film nanostripes can be manipulated via interaction with spin waves (SWs) propagating through the TW. The velocity of the TW motion can be controlled by changes of the frequency and amplitude of the propagating SWs.

Universal front propagation in the quantum Ising chain with domain-wall initial states

open access: yesSciPost Physics, 2016
We study the melting of domain walls in the ferromagnetic phase of the transverse Ising chain, created by flipping the order-parameter spins along one-half of the chain.

Interfacing ultracold atoms with nanomagnetic domain walls [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This thesis presents the first realisation of a new type of hybrid quantum device based on spintronic technology. We demonstrate an interaction between the magnetic fringing fields produced by domain walls within planar permalloy nanowires and a cloud of

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Topologically protected steady cycles in an icelike mechanical metamaterial

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
Competing ground states may lead to topologically constrained excitations such as domain walls or quasiparticles, which govern metastable states and their dynamics. Domain walls and more exotic topological excitations are well studied in magnetic systems
