Categorising emissions in non-domestic buildings

2023
This report explores the pros and cons of different methods to apportion measured direct emissions from heat use categories in non-domestic buildings. Through analysis and stakeholder engagement, it also assesses different practical and feasible ways to regulate direct emissions at a building level.

Water Efficiency Regulations in Domestic Buildings

2020
Depending on the culture of water use and the specific territorial resources available, some countries have introduced laws and regulations to restrict water use through the labeling of appliances according to water use. Major global regulations are the WaterSense Program in the United States (US), the Australian Water Efficiency Labeling Scheme (WELS),

THE NEST‐BUILDING BEHAVIOUR OF DOMESTICATED CANARIES

Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 1958

DAYLIGHTING TECHNOLOGIES IN NON-DOMESTIC BUILDINGS

International Journal of Solar Energy, 1994
Abstract Natural daylight is an inexpensive and very efficient light source provided that the amount of daylight entering a building is controlled according to demand. In commercial buildings electricity for lighting can be cut by 50-75% using daylighting design techniques in combination with efficient artificial lighting.

VILLASMART: Wireless sensors for system identification in domestic buildings

IEEE PES ISGT Europe 2013, 2013
In this paper, we describe the design decisions, the implementation caveats, and the challenges faced while deploying a special-purpose wireless sensor network (WSN) at a domestic building that is part of a smart grid test environment. The sensor network is designed to collect high-quality data of the building's in- and outdoor climate, heating system,
