ABSTRACTThis review of the principal general features of chylothorax includes the aetiology, diagnosis, diagnostic methods and treatment. The results of a study of the anatomical features of the duct and its associated cistern in sixty cats are discussed in relation to both chylothorax and the elective ligation of the ruptured duct in the cat.
