Coupled thermodynamic and biologic modelling of Legionella pneumophila proliferation in domestic hot water systems [PDF]
The production of Domestic Hot Water (DHW) dominates the total energy demand. One of the main reasons for the high energy demand is that DHW is stored and distributed at temperatures above 55°C to mitigate the risk of infecting the DHW system with ...

An investigation of the corrosion of domestic hot water tanks
A method for the examination of corrosion in domestic hot water tanks is described. Results based on physical and metallographic examination of tanks taken from 15 localities in Ontario are given. Evidence is presented to show that the polarity of the zinc-iron couple reverses under certain service conditions.

OPTIMIZATION OF SOLAR DOMESTIC HOT WATER SYSTEMS
In Serbia, it is customary to use electrical energy for heating of domestic hot water (DHW). As around 70% of electrical energy is produced by using coal with high greenhouse emission, it is beneficial to environment to use solar energy for heating of DHW in solar DHW system (SDHWS).
