CH4 emissions and reduction potential in wastewater treatment in China

open access: yesAdvances in Climate Change Research, 2015
The treatment of domestic and industrial wastewater is one of the major sources of CH4 in the Chinese waste sector. On the basis of statistical data and country-specific emission factors, using IPCC methodology, the characteristics of CH4 emissions from ...

ANAEROBIC DIGESTION OF DOMESTIC WASTEWATER

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Engineering and Technology, 2013
Treatment of domestic wastewater is one of the seri ous problems. Various treatment technologies such a s physico-chemical treatment and biological treatment are available fo r the treatment of domestic wastewater. Owing to th e presence of high organic matter, domestic wastewater is well suited for biological treatment.

Efisiensi Sistem Multi Soil Layering Pada Pengolahan Air Limbah Domestik Pada Daerah Perkotaan Padat Penduduk

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Pengairan, 2019
The discharge of domestic wastewater in urban areas without effective treatment may result in contamination of surrounding surface water. This study explored the wastewater treatment performance of multi-soil-layering (MSL) on domestic wastewater ...

Environmental and local habitat variables as predictors of trophic interactions in subtidal rocky reefs along the SE Pacific coast

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Temperature generally drives latitudinal patterns in the strength of trophic interactions, including consumption rates. However, local community and other environmental conditions might also affect consumption, disrupting latitudinal gradients, which results in complex large‐scale patterns.

Treatment and removal strategies for estrogens from wastewater [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Natural and synthetic steroidal estrogens (estrone, 17β-estradiol and 17α-ethinylestradiol) are endocrine disrupters, that are discharged consistently from the sewage treatment works into surface waters, thereby causing endocrine disrupting effects to ...

Multifunctional Organic and Inorganic Composite Coating for Outdoor Droplet Energy Collection and Water Quality Monitoring

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The difluoropyridine‐based benzoxazine (BA‐fa) was synthesized through a Mannich reaction, and a MoO3‐doped PBA‐fa complex layered DEG was fabricated using an ultrasonic spray coating method, which can not only generate electricity in rainy days but also effectively prevent fires on building roofs, self‐cleaning the surface of buildings on rainy days ...

Hydrophobic eutectic solvent‐engineered membranes for highly permeable, selective, and antifouling pharmaceutical removal from municipal wastewater

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Single‐step incorporation of a hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent (HDES) into polyethersulfone ultrafiltration membranes via non‐solvent induced phase separation creates selective, antifouling membranes for pharmaceutical removal. The HDES nanodomains enhance permeability, electrostatic interactions, and adsorption affinity, enabling efficient and ...
