Technologies for domestic wastewater recycling
Urban Water, 2000Abstract Domestic wastewater recycling is still in its infancy and as such, there is a paucity of reliable information relating to both the nature of grey water and the range of recycling technologies available. The lack of water quality standards and the poor understanding of the nature of grey water have led to the development of a plethora of ...

Domestic Wastewater Treatment Using Garbage Enzyme
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2020The study aimed to develop garbage enzyme solution, a value-added product from the organic kitchen wastes generated. The characteristics of the garbage enzymes were investigated, and its potential efficiency of parameters removal were studied. It was produced by three months fermentation of jaggery, fruit wastes and water mixture in the ratio of 1:3:10.

Nutrient (phosphorus) removal from domestic wastewater
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020Eutrophication is one of the major Environmental concern causing serious ecological problems in open water sources such as lake, ponds, estuaries and reservoir. Eutrophication is engendered by uncontrolled production of aquatic plants, algal growth, and depletion of aquatic organisms due to the presence of excessive nutrients, preventing the sunlight ...

Diagnosis of domestic wastewater sand filters
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Water Management, 2013On-site domestic wastewater treatment (ODWT) systems are receiving renewed interest due to their simplicity of implementation, affordability and efficiency. The most widespread ODWT system is the sand filter with vertical drained flow (SFVDF). To optimise the design and maintenance of SFVDFs, it is important to be able to check the conformity of the ...

Coagulation-crossflow microfiltration of domestic wastewater
Journal of Membrane Science, 1996Abstract The effect of using alum, polyaluminum silicate sulfate (PASS), and lime as coagulants on the performance of crossflow microfiltration of domestic wastewater was investigated. The primary membrane used throughout the study was made of woven polyester, while the dynamic membrane was formed by circulating MnO 2 precipitate.
