Dominance-Based Rough Set Approach Using Possibility and Necessity Measures

open access: closed, 2002
Dominance-based rough set approach is an extension of the basic rough set approach proposed by Pawlak, to multicriteria classification problems. In this paper, the dominance-based rough set approach is considered in the context of vague information on preferences and decision classes.

Dominance-Based Rough Set Approach as a Proper Way of Handling Graduality in Rough Set Theory

open access: closed, 2007
Referring to some ideas of Leibniz, Frege, Boole and Łukasiewicz, we represent fundamental concepts of rough set theory in terms of a generalization that permits to deal with the graduality of fuzzy sets. Our conjunction of rough sets and fuzzy sets is made using the Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA).

Dominance-based Rough Set Approach Supporting Experts in Situation Assessment

2019 IEEE Conference on Cognitive and Computational Aspects of Situation Management (CogSIMA), 2019
Situation Awareness is the capability of understanding what is happening in order to make informed and correct decisions. The process for gaining good levels of Situation Awareness is defined as situation assessment. One of the main tasks of situation assessment is the identification of the situation.

A Heuristic Approach to Dynamically Update Approximations of Dominance Based Rough Set Theory

International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology, 2022
In multi-criteria decision-making problems, dominance based rough set approach (DRSA) has been extensively used. However, in real-time domain, information often evolves with time.

On Topological Dominance-based Rough Set Approach

2010
In this article, we characterize the Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA) from the point of view of its topological properties. Using the concept of a bitopological space, we extend to DRSA the classical results known for the original rough set approach. Moreover, we introduce a topological approach to ordinal classification.

A Semantical Approach to Rough Sets and Dominance-Based Rough Sets

2016
There exist two formulations of rough sets: the conceptual and computational one. The conceptual or semantical approach of rough set theory focuses on the meaning and interpretation of concepts, while algorithms to compute those concepts are studied in the computational formulation. However, the research on the former is rather limited.

On Variable Consistency Dominance-Based Rough Set Approaches

2006
We consider different variants of Variable Consistency Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (VC-DRSA). These variants produce more general (extended) lower approximations than those computed by Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA), (i.e., lower approximations that are supersets of those computed by DRSA).

Bayesian Decision Theory for Dominance-Based Rough Set Approach [PDF]

open access: possible, 2007
Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA) has been proposed to generalize classical rough set approach when consideration of monotonicity between degrees of membership to considered concepts has to be taken into account. This is typical for data describing various phenomena, e.g., "the larger the mass and the smaller the distance, the larger the ...

Generalizing Rough Set Theory Through Dominance-Based Rough Set Approach

2005
Ordinal properties of data related to preferences have been taken into account in the Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA). We show that DRSA is also relevant in case where preferences are not considered but a kind of monotonicity relating attribute values is meaningful for the analysis of data at hand.

Dominance-Based Rough Set Approach to Interactive Multiobjective Optimization [PDF]

open access: possible, 2008
In this chapter, we present a new method for interactive multiobjective optimization, which is based on application of a logical preference model built using the Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA). The method is composed of two main stages that alternate in an interactive procedure.
