Comparing Rough Set Theory with Multiple Regression Analysis as Automated Valuation Methodologies [PDF]
This paper focuses on the problem of applying rough set theory to mass appraisal. This methodology was first introduced by a Polish mathematician, and has been applied recently as an automated valuation methodology by the author.

Application of Dominance-based Rough Set Theory for Knowledge Discovery in Cooperative Learning
This paper illustrates a rule induction approach to discover decision patterns by using Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA) to unravel the intrinsic factors for learning successes and failures in a cooperative group-learning environment. It employs

A rough set-based association rule approach implemented on exploring beverages product spectrum [PDF]
When items are classified according to whether they have more or less of a characteristic, the scale used is referred to as an ordinal scale. The main characteristic of the ordinal scale is that the categories have a logical or ordered relationship to ...

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.

Rough set methodology in meta-analysis - a comparative and exploratory analysis [PDF]
We study the applicability of the pattern recognition methodology "rough set data analysis" (RSDA) in the field of meta analysis. We give a summary of the mathematical and statistical background and then proceed to an application of the theory to a meta ...

Spare parts classification in industrial manufacturing using the dominance-based rough set approach [PDF]
Classification is one of the critical issues in the operations management of spare parts. The issue of managing spare parts involves multiple criteria to be taken into consideration, and therefore, a number of approaches exists that consider criteria ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.
