Value-dominant logic: organizational principles

European Journal of Marketing, 2023
Purpose This paper aims to present the seven organizational principles for developing value-dominant logic (VDL) thinking and advancing it toward making a business purposeful and open to a lifestyle of value for humanity at large. Design/methodology/approach VDL considers value as rooted on axiology, actor-network theory, the hygge concept and is ...

Monotonicity, dominance and the Pareto principle

Economics Letters, 1994
Abstract We examine the implications of three similar criteria that are commonly used in welfare economics and the analysis of inequality and poverty - income dominance, monotonicity and the Pareto principle - within the context of income-distribution comparisons.

Alleged Dominating Principles

2002
Abstract This chapter considers two other candidates for dominating principles: equality of resources and social convention. The advocate of equality of resources asks us to lift the totality of resources over which a property institution reigns out of its historical setting and to regard it as a cake sliceable into arithmetically equal ...

Sequential dominance and the anti-aggregation principle

Philosophical Studies, 2014
According to the widely held anti-aggregation principle, it is wrong to save a larger number of people from minor harms rather than a smaller number from much more serious harms. This principle is a central part of many influential and anti-utilitarian ethical theories.

Sequential Generalized Lorenz Dominance and Transfer Principles*

Bulletin of Economic Research, 2000
In an important contribution in 1987, Atkinson and Bourguignon proposed dominance criteria which allow us to compare income distributions for heterogeneous populations. They are defined by the unanimous preference of the dominating distribution by a set of welfare functions which satisfy some conditions on the derivatives of utility‐of‐income functions.

A Revelation Principle for Dominant Strategy Implementation [PDF]

open access: possible, 2008
We introduce a perfect price discriminating (PPD) mechanism for allocation problems with private information. A PPD mechanism treats a seller, for example, as a perfect price discriminating monopolist who faces a price schedule that does not depend on her report.

A note on Bernoulli's principle and probability dominance

Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 1985
The concept of \(\beta\)-dominance proposed by \textit{C. Wrather} and \textit{P. L. Yu} [ibid. 36, 315-334 (1982; Zbl 0452.90007)] is shown to be not equivalent to that of expected utilities, which depend on the chosen alternative and the not chosen alternative.
