Hand dominance and implications for left-handed operation of controls∗
Ergonomics, 1989This review paper argues that the consequences of control performance among left-handed operators, who may represent a sizeable portion of the population, should not be disregarded as a design issue. Principally, the control panel designer may err in assuming that left-handers, given enough time and effort, will simply 'learn' to operate a complex ...

Noise, S‐R compatibility and hand dominance
Scandinavian Journal of Psychology, 1988The present study investigated the importance of task parameters in determining the effects of noise on performance, with interest focusing on variables which influence response selection and execution. The results of the first experiment showed that noise had an effect on response selection, slowing reaction times when an incompatible response had to ...

[Arterial dominance of the hand].
Handchirurgie, Mikrochirurgie, plastische Chirurgie : Organ der Deutschsprachigen Arbeitsgemeinschaft fur Handchirurgie : Organ der Deutschsprachigen Arbeitsgemeinschaft fur Mikrochirurgie der Peripheren Nerven und Gefasse : Organ der V..., 1997Arterial dominance in the hand was studied in 164 hands using digital pulse electronic oscillography (DPEO) and the Allen test. It was seen that the radial artery more frequently delivered the main blood supply to the digits (radial-ulnar dominance 12.8: 4.2%).

Hand dominance in orthopaedic surgeons.
Acta orthopaedica Belgica, 2012Handedness is perhaps the most studied human asymmetry. Laterality is the preference shown for one side and it has been studied in many aspects of medicine. Studies have shown that some orthopaedic procedures had poorer outcomes and identified laterality as a contributing factor.
