Human In Vivo Metabolism and Elimination Behavior of Micro-Dosed Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator RAD140 for Doping Control Purposes

open access: yesMetabolites, 2022
RAD140 is a selective androgen receptor modulator which has been abused in sporting competitions. Its use is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for athletes at all times.

Covalent Nitrogen Doping and Compressive Strain in MoS2 by Remote N2 Plasma Exposure

open access: yes, 2016
Controllable doping of two-dimensional materials is highly desired for ideal device performance in both hetero- and p-n homo-junctions. Herein, we propose an effective strategy for doping of MoS2 with nitrogen through a remote N2 plasma surface treatment.

Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.

Mass spectrometric identification and characterization of urinary metabolites of isopropylnorsynephrine for doping control purposes

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, 2021
Isopropylnorsynephrine (isopropyloctopamine, deterenol, 4‐(1‐hydroxy‐2‐(isopropylamino)ethyl)phenol), a beta‐selective and direct‐acting adrenergic agonist, has been reported in the past as declared as well as non‐declared ingredient of dietary ...

Characterization of a Recyclate‐Based MgO‐Steel Composite As‐Sintered Inert Anode Candidate After Exposure to Cryolite Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon‐free inert anodes are essential for decarbonizing aluminum electrolysis. This study investigates a recyclate‐based MgO‐316L steel composite anode tested under galvanostatic Hall–Héroult conditions in cryolite at 1000°C. Microstructural analysis reveals selective MgO fluorination, spinel and oxide layer formation, electrolyte infiltration, and ...

Anomalous organic magnetoresistance from competing carrier-spin-dependent interactions with localized electronic and nuclear spins

open access: yes, 2014
We describe a new regime for low-field magnetoresistance in organic semiconductors, in which the spin-relaxing effects of localized nuclear spins and electronic spins interfere.

Removing Oxide Layers and Retaining Oxide‐Free Steel Surfaces by Polishing in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the efficacy of wet mechanical polishing under an oxygen‐free atmosphere for deoxidation and the retention of an oxide‐free steel surface are elucidated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The methodology proved successful; however, the results were highly dependent on the preparation of the solvents used to clean the samples after ...
