Surface Modification of Fluorine‐Free Superhydrophobic Materials with (Ultra‐)Thin TiO2 Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Significant changes in wettability, with a reduction of 60o in the water conduct angle, are reported via the surface modification of fluorine‐free superhydrophobic thin films, prepared by aerosol‐assisted chemical vapor deposition, after coating a 4 nm layer of titanium dioxide on the surface using atomic layer deposition.

The purpose and effectiveness of doping testing in sport

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living
Maintaining an effective testing program is critical to the success and credibility of the anti-doping movement. However, a low detection ratio compared to the assumed real prevalence of sport doping has led some to question and criticize the ...

Future opportunities for the Athlete Biological Passport

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living, 2022
The Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) was introduced to complement the direct anti-doping approach by indirectly outlining the possible use of prohibited substances or methods in sports.

The attainable superconducting Tc in a model of phase coherence by percolation

open access: yes, 2001
The onset of macroscopic phase coherence in superconducting cuprates is considered to be determined by random percolation between mesoscopic Jahn-Teller pairs, stripes or clusters.

On self-protecting singlets in cuprate superconductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The basal area (Cu-Cu grid) of the cuprate superconductors not only tends to shrink on hole doping, as expected from single electron quantum chemistry, but exhibits also an electronically incompressible "hump'' around optimum doping n_opt = 0.16.

Efficient and Scalable Radiative Cooling for Photovoltaics Using Solution‐Processable and Solar‐Transparent Mesoporous Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graded refractive index (GRI) structures are prepared from the layer‐by‐layer spray coating of the mesoporous SiO2 nanoparticles, showing high solar transparency and thermal emissivity. Under outdoor conditions, after 50 days, the GRI‐coated photovoltaics show on average 6.65 ± 1.48 °C lower than that of the non‐coated references, maintaining 80.9 ± 8 ...

Stabilized Intermediate Phase Via Pseudo‐Halide Anions Toward Highly Efficient and Light‐Soaking Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The formate pseudo‐halide anion is strategically introduced at the buried interface to stabilize the intermediate phases formed during perovskite crystallization. The controlled crystallization enhances crystallinity and alleviates tensile strain, eliminating residual PbI2 near the buried interface.

A systematic review on the effectiveness of anti-doping education for university students

open access: yesEmerging Trends in Drugs, Addictions, and Health
Background: Doping poses a threat to the integrity of sport and the health of athletes who dope, including university students. In this systematic review, we identified the content of anti-doping education that universities provide, the disciplines ...
