Prognostic value of echocardiographic indices of left atrial morphology and function in dogs with myxomatous mitral valve disease [PDF]
Background: The prognostic relevance of left atrial (LA) morphological and functional variables, including those derived from speckle tracking echocardiography (STE), has been little investigated in veterinary medicine.

ALKBH5 promoted G3BP1 expression via m⁶A methylation at sites 142/173. G3BP1 interacts with YBX1 and p53, reducing their nuclear translocation and decreasing p53‐mediated SLC7A11 repression. This inhibites cardiomyocyte ferroptosis and mitigates myocardial damage during diabetic ischemia‐reperfusion injury.

Raised Prosthetic Valve Gradients: What Should be the Approach?
The introduction of valve replacement surgery has dramatically improved the outcome of patients with valvular heart disease. Echocardiography plays an important role to determine the outcome of the surgery and follow up of these patients with prosthetic ...

Systolic ejection murmurs and the left ventricular outflow tract in boxer dogs [PDF]
Turbulence of various genesis in the left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) causes systolic ejection murmurs. The prevalence of murmurs in adult boxer dogs is 50-80%, the majority of which are of low intensity.

Left ventricular mass and intrarenal arterial stiffness as early diagnostic markers in cardiorenal syndrome type 5 due to systemic sclerosis [PDF]
Background: Cardiorenal syndrome type 5 (CRS-5) includes a group of conditions characterized by a simultaneous involvement of the heart and kidney in the course of a systemic disease.

ABSTRACT Cardiovascular complications are the leading cause of mortality in sickle cell anemia (SCA) patients. While extensive data have identified diastolic dysfunction (DD) to increase morbidity and mortality, the unique hemodynamic conditions inherent to SCA challenge the current recommendations to assess diastolic function. Thus, there is an urgent

BACKGROUND:. Pericardial tamponade can often be diagnosed through clinical findings and echocardiography; however, the diagnosis can be aided by demonstrating the hemodynamic consequences of the effusion. We describe the use of a wearable carotid Doppler

Changes in left atrial deformation in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: Evaluation by vector velocity imaging. [PDF]
OBJECTIVES: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) represents a generalized myopathic process affecting both ventricular and atrial myocardium. We assessed the global and regional left atrial (LA) function and its relation to left ventricular (LV) mechanics ...

ABSTRACT Turner syndrome (TS) is frequently complicated by congenital heart disease (CHD). While left‐sided lesions such as bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and coarctation of the aorta are the most common structural heart lesions in TS, other anomalies, such as aortic arch malformations, hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), persistent left superior vena
