Color-Doppler Echocardiography Flow Field Velocity Reconstruction Using a Streamfunction -Vorticity Formulation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
We introduce a new method, (Doppler Velocity Reconstruction or DoVeR), for reconstructing two-component velocity fields from color Doppler scans. DoVeR employs the streamfunction-vorticity equation, which satisfies mass conservation while accurately approximating the flow rate of rotation.

Considerations for drug trials in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1095-1112, April 2025.
Abstract Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a heterogeneous condition with potentially serious manifestations. Management has traditionally comprised therapies to palliate symptoms and implantable cardioverter‐defibrillators to prevent sudden cardiac death. The need for disease‐modifying therapies has been recognized for decades.

Application of Echocardiography on Transgenic Mice with Cardiomyopathies

open access: yesBiochemistry Research International, 2012
Cardiomyopathies are common cardiac disorders that primarily affect cardiac muscle resulting in cardiac dysfunction and heart failure. Transgenic mouse disease models have been developed to investigate the cellular mechanisms underlying heart failure and

Prognostic role of TAPSE to PASP ratio in outpatients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 912-922, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Few data are available regarding the role of tricuspid annulus plane systolic excursion to pulmonary artery systolic pressure (TAPSE/PASP), a measurement of right ventricular to pulmonary artery coupling, in patients with chronic heart failure and left ventricular systolic dysfunction.

A phenomap of TTR amyloidosis to aid diagnostic screening

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1113-1118, April 2025.
Abstract Cardiac amyloidosis due to transthyretin (ATTR) remains an underdiagnosed cause of cardiomyopathy. As awareness of the disease grows and referrals for ATTR increase, clinicians are likely to encounter more atypical forms of the condition in clinical practice.

Normal Echocardiographic Findings in Healthy Pigeons [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Veterinary Surgery, 2017
Objective- The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility of performing echocardiography in apparently healthy pigeons, and measurement of the quantitative cardiac indices using B-mode and Doppler techniques.

Tissue Doppler echocardiography – A case of right tool, wrong use

open access: yesCardiovascular Ultrasound, 2004
Background The developments in echocardiography or ultrasound cardiography (UCG) have improved our clinical capabilities. However, advanced hardware and software capabilities have resulted in UCG facilities of dubious clinical benefits. Is tissue Doppler

Left atrial function in uraemic patients: Four‐dimensional automatic left atrial quantitative technology study

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1316-1325, April 2025.
Abstract Objective This study aimed to evaluate the utility of left atrial volume and function in uraemic patients using four‐dimensional automatic left atrial quantification (4D auto LAQ) technology. Methods Thirty‐four undialysed uraemic patients (U‐ND group), 60 dialysed uraemic patients (U‐D group), and 32 healthy volunteers (N group) were enrolled
