Impact of Biomimetic Pinna Shape Variation on Clutter Echoes: A Machine Learning Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Bats with dynamic ear structures navigate dense, echo‐rich environments, yet the echoes they receive are highly random. This study shows that machine learning can reliably detect structural signatures in these seemingly chaotic biosonar signals. The results open new directions for biologically inspired sensing, where time‐varying receiver shapes ...

Monitoring high-intensity focused ultrasound thermal therapy by ultrasound doppler imaging using twinkling artifact.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive therapeutic modality that uses high-energy acoustic waves to thermally coagulate tissue at the focal region.

Doppler frequency estimation in pulse doppler radar systems

open access: yes, 2009
Pulse Doppler radar systems are one of the most common types of radar systems, especially in military applications. These radars are mainly designed to estimate two basic parameters of the targets, range and Doppler frequency. A common procedure of estimating those parameters is matched filtering, followed by pulse Doppler processing, and finally one ...

Marfan Syndrome Associated With Intellectual Disability and Behavioral Anomalies: Further Evidence for the Effect of Compound Heterozygous Variants in FBN1 on Phenotypic Severity

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Marfan syndrome (MFS) is a rare connective tissue disorder characterized by involvement of the cardiovascular, ocular, and musculoskeletal systems. Pathogenic variants in FBN1 cause most of the MFS cases; however, intellectual disability (ID) is rarely observed. A non‐consanguineous Pakistani family with four affected individuals was recruited.

Prenatal Evaluation of RNU4‐2 Variants in Fetuses With Central Nervous System Anomalies

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fetal central nervous system (CNS) anomalies are among the most common congenital malformations, yet the overall prenatal diagnostic yield of current genetic testing remains below 40%. Variants in RNU4‐2, a non‐coding gene encoding the U4 small nuclear RNA (snRNA), have recently been linked to a novel highly recurrent dominant ...

Biocompatibility and healing patterns in experimentally induced canine tibial fractures using Pedicle screw‐Rod external fixation

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that using a Pedicle screw‐Rod configuration for the external fixation of non‐articular tibial osteotomy aligns well with the principles of biological osteosynthesis, resulting in secondary bone healing characterized by callus formation and neovascularization.

Noise Reduction of Velocity Measured by Frequency-Supervised Combined Doppler Sonar Using an Adaptive Sliding Window and Kalman Filter

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Velocity is fundamental information for ocean engineering. It is difficult for traditional Doppler sonar to provide accurate and wide-range velocity measurement information with a short time lag.
