Doppler Radar Observations of a Hailstorm [PDF]
Abstract A severe hailstorm, occuring on 10 August 1966, passed over a zenith pointing, X-band, pulsed-Doppler radar located on a mountain in southeastern Arizona. An analysis was made of measurements of radar reflectivity, mean Doppler velocity, variance of the Doppler spectrum, and calculated updraft velocity.

The radar echoes of moving targets in a clutter background are extremely weak and their characteristics are complex. A low-observable moving target detection technology has become a key constraint to radar performance, requiring the radar to provide ...

A study of the 23 October 2022 southern England damaging MCS
During the afternoon of 23 October 2022, a mesoscale convective system (MCS) developed and intensified over the English Channel and tracked north‐northeastward into southern England, producing widespread damaging winds and at least three moderate to strong tornadoes in Hampshire.

Survey and Modeling of Windblown Ejecta Deposits on Venus
Abstract Venus' thick atmosphere rotates in the same direction as the solid body, but ∼60 times faster. This atmospheric superrotation has produced dozens of windblown ejecta deposits (“parabolas”) on the surface of Venus. The formation and modification of parabolas is an interplay between impacts, aeolian modification, and atmospheric dynamics.

Chung-Li, Taiwan dual mode (Doppler and spaced antenna) VHF radar: Preliminary specifications [PDF]
A major unresolved question in the field of atmospheric research using VHF radar techniques is the relative merit of the two most widely used systems. These systems are the Doppler method and the spaced antenna method.
