Accuracy and precision in photonic Doppler velocimetry
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2010While photonic Doppler velocimetry (PDV) is becoming a common diagnostic in dynamic compression research, its limiting accuracy and precision are not well understood. Velocity resolution is known to be inversely proportional to the time resolution, but resolution estimates differ by one to two orders of magnitude.

Wave mixing in Doppler velocimetry of atoms
Physical Review Letters, 1990An atom in a laser-cooled sample driven by more than one traveling-wave laser beam radiates a coherent signal that contains multiwave-mixing frequencies derived from the Doppler shifts. Wave mixing tends to obscure Doppler velocimetry of atoms, although in the actual experiments of Westbrook et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett.

Doppler Velocimetry and Hypertension
2005It has been demonstrated, without doubt, that the clinical use of umbilical artery flow velocity waveforms reduces perinatal deaths and unnecessary admission to hospital or induction of labor for suspected placental insufficiency. It can also be used in primary health care settings to differentiate between a normal fetus with poor growth and placental ...
