Observations of thunder with the Arecibo VHF radar [PDF]
An experiment was carried out at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico in August 1985 to study Doppler velocities in a thunderstorm environment with a beam pointed 2.5 degrees off-vertical.

Formation Process of a Light Bridge Revealed with the Hinode Solar Optical Telescope
The Solar Optical Telescope (SOT) aboard HINODE successfully and continuously observed a formation process of a light bridge in a matured sunspot of the NOAA active region 10923 for several days with high spatial resolution.

Observations of Plasma Upflow in a Warm Loop with Hinode/EIS [PDF]
A complete understanding of Doppler shift in active region loops can help probe the basic physical mechanism involved into the heating of those loops.

Combining a biomimetic soft‐robot with deep‐learning data analytics sheds light on a unique peripheral dynamics seen in the biosonar system of bats: Bats modulate their ultrasonic biosonar signals upon emission as well as reception with variable, yet highly coordinated motion patterns of their noseleaves and pinnae.

Large density amplification measured on jets ejected from a magnetized plasma gun [PDF]
Observation of a large density amplification in the collimating plasma jet ejected from a coplanar coaxial plasma gun is reported. The jet velocity is ~30 km s^-1 and the electron density increases from ~10^20 to 10^(22–23) m^-3.

MODELING SOLAR OSCILLATION POWER SPECTRA. II. PARAMETRIC MODEL OF SPECTRAL LINES OBSERVED IN DOPPLER-VELOCITY MEASUREMENTS [PDF]
We describe a global parametric model for the observed power spectra of solar oscillations of intermediate and low degree. A physically motivated parameterization is used as a substitute for a direct description of mode excitation and damping as these mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Radar High Resolution Range & Micro-Doppler Analysis of Human Motions [PDF]
In radar imaging it is well known that relative motion or deformation of parts of illuminated objects induce additional features in the Doppler frequency spectra.

Fast reconstruction of 3D blood flows from Doppler ultrasound images and reduced models
This paper deals with the problem of building fast and reliable 3D reconstruction methods for blood flows for which partial information is given by Doppler ultrasound measurements.
