Erosion of granular sediments by submerged impinging jets: Particle size effects and cohesion onset
Abstract This study investigates the erosion behavior and modeling of glass particle beds under impinging jet conditions, with a focus on particle size effects and the onset of cohesion. Ultrasonic profiling is implemented to scan and measure static crater profiles.

The Doppler Lidar for Atmospheric Wind Observation
The multi-channel incoherent doppler lidar is currently developed under Communications Research Laboratory (CRL). This system is designed for the visualization of the stratospheric winds in clear nights. It consists of a stabilized Nd:YAG(SHG) laser, a 75cm collection mirror, Fabry-Perot interferometer and multi-ring photon detector.

Design of a Non-scanning Lidar for Wind Velocity and Direction Measurement
A Doppler lidar system for wind velocity and direction measurement is presented. The lidar use a wide field of view (FOV) objective lens as an optical antenna for both beam transmitting and signal receiving.

Latent Heat Flux Profiles from Collocated Airborne Water Vapor and Wind Lidars during IHOP_2002 [PDF]
Latent heat flux profiles in the convective boundary layer (CBL) are obtained for the first time with the combination of the DLR water vapor differential absorption lidar (DIAL) and the NOAA high resolution Doppler wind lidar (HRDL).

Doppler Lidar in the Wind Forecast Improvement Projects [PDF]
This paper will provide an overview of some projects in support of Wind Energy development involving Doppler lidar measurement of wind flow profiles. The high temporal and vertical resolution of these profiles allows the uncertainty of Numerical Weather Prediction models to be evaluated in forecasting dynamic processes and wind flow phenomena in the ...

Abstract Hurricane Harvey (2017) produced 31 net‐erosional washout channels on San Jose Island, Texas, USA, where offshore‐directed flows cut through two dune ridges and the beach. Channel growth was affected by natural, pre‐existing aeolian topography, rather than prior washover channels or infrastructure. We investigate how offshore directed outwash,
