Association of high‐dose radioactive iodine therapy with PPM1D‐mutated clonal hematopoiesis in older individuals

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In thyroid cancer patients, high‐dose (≥7.4 GBq) radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT) was associated with a higher prevalence of clonal hematopoiesis (variant allele frequency >2%) in individuals aged ≥50 years (OR = 2.44). In silico analyses showed that truncating PPM1D mutations conferred a selective advantage under these conditions.

Phthalate metabolite mixtures and dose-response associations with depressive symptoms in U.S. adults

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Depression is a significant global health challenge. Emerging evidence links phthalate exposure to depressive symptoms, but population-based data are limited.

Practical considerations for optimal designs in clinical dose finding studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Determining an adequate dose level for a drug and, more broadly, characterizing its dose response relationship, are key objectives in the clinical development of any medicinal drug.

ITGAV and SMAD4 influence the progression and clinical outcome of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In SMAD4‐positive pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), integrin subunit alpha V (ITGAV) activates latent TGF‐β, which binds to the TGF‐β receptor and phosphorylates SMAD2/3. The activated SMAD2/3 forms a complex with SMAD4, and together they translocate to the nucleus, modulating gene expression to promote proliferation, migration, and invasion. In

Optimal dose and type of exercise to improve depressive symptoms in older adults: a systematic review and network meta-analysis

open access: yesBMC Geriatrics
Background Depression is a prevalent issue among older adults, affecting their quality of life and overall well-being. Exercise is an effective means of relieving depressive symptoms in older adults, but the optimal dose for different exercise types ...

Effective Doses of Recombinant Human Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 in Experimental Spinal Fusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Study Design Nineteen dogs underwent L4-L5 intertransverse process fusions with either 58 μg, 115 μg, 230 μg, 460 μg, or 920 μg of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 carried by a polylactic acid polymer.

Tests for Trends in Binary Response [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Tests for trend in binary response are especially important when analyzing animal experiments where the response in various dose--groups is of interest. Among the nonparametric tests the approach of Cochran and Armitage is the one which is most commonly ...

The Importance of Body Weight for the Dose Response Relationship of Oral Vitamin D Supplementation and Serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D in Healthy Volunteers

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Unlike vitamin D recommendations by the Institute of Medicine, the Clinical Practice Guidelines by the Endocrine Society acknowledge body weight differentials and recommend obese subjects be given two to three times more vitamin D to satisfy their body's
