Environmental DNA, Volume 7, Issue 2, March/April 2025.This study used environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding of superficial water samples to assess benthic invertebrate biodiversity in the Venice Lagoon. Sampling from surface water revealed 80 taxonomic units, mostly benthic species, including several invasive ones, with significant spatial and seasonal variations in community composition.
