Zener diode dosimeter

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1977
The nature of electron-induced changes in the electrical properties of Zener diodes and their application to a Zener diode dosimeter are presented. A standard Zener diode is used as a small size (0.15×0.4×0.4 mm), high-level dose detector. The irradiated dose can be estimated by a shift of the breakdown voltage of the Zener diode.

Performance of the DOSIRIS™ eye lens dosimeter

Journal of Radiological Protection, 2019
Monitoring and protecting of occupational eye doses in interventional radiology (IR) are very important matters. DOSIRIS™ is the useful solution to estimate the 3 mm dose-equivalent (Hp(3)), and it can be worn behind lead glasses.

A Body-Cavity Dosimeter

Radiology, 1959
Throughout the history of radiological physics, the search for an ideal body-cavity radiation dosimeter has been continuous. Many forms have been tried, but each has failed to fulfill one or more of the necessary or desirable characteristics. Even the gas-filled thimble-type ionization chamber in its standard form suffers from its large size ...

Development of a 2.45 GHz Antenna for Flexible Compact Radiation Dosimeter Tags

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2019
Numerous medical operations employ blood transfusions, requiring X-ray irradiated blood for safety concerns. Current irradiation techniques can be significantly improved by replacing standard visual indicators with wireless dosimeter tags that automate ...

Mproved Fluoroglass Dosimeter as Personnel Monitoring Dosimeter and Microdosimeter

Health Physics, 1965
Abstract Low predose and low-Z silver-activated phosphate glass was studied. With due regard to measurement errors, a newly-contrived optical system has been employed. This system is insensitive to dirt on glass and its holder, and limits the predose fluorescence due to the holder to a value lower than 8 per cent of that in the prototype.

Pergascript orange-based polymeric solution as a dosimeter for radiotherapy dosimetric validation.

Physica medica (Testo stampato), 2019
A radiation colour former amino fluoran dye, Pergascript Orange (PGO), in a polyvinyl butyral solution containing a colour developer, hexachloroethane (HCE), was prepared and investigated for radiotherapy dosimetry of 60Co, 6 MV and 15 MV photons. PGO, a

Nuclear magnetic resonance analysis of a chemically cross-linked ferrous-methylthymol blue-polyvinyl alcohol radiochromic gel dosimeter.

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2019
A new formulation of hydrogel dosimeter consisting of ferrous-methylthymol blue (MTB)-polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) cross-linked chemically with glutaraldehyde (GTA) was studied and evaluated by nuclear magnetic resonance analysis by means of the R2 spin-spin ...

Personal electronic UVR dosimeter measurements: specific and general uncertainties

Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences, 2019
Personal ultraviolet radiation (UVR) dosimetry has been performed for decades to objectively measure human exposure to UVR. These measurements have been used to investigate solar behaviour and its negative effects on human health such as skin cancer and ...

Dosimetric characteristics of PASSAG as a new polymer gel dosimeter with negligible toxicity

Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 2018
Despite many advantages of polymer gel dosimeters, their clinical use is only not realized now. Toxicity of polymer gel dosimeters can be considered as one of their main limitations for use in routine clinical applications.

Dosimeter

2020
This dosimeter comprises: - a transducer material (30) able, when it is excited by a secondary ionising radiation, to generate photons or electric charges, - an amplifying layer (34) able, in response to its excitation by primary ionising radiation, to generate the secondary ionising radiation.
