Internal131Cs dosimetry

La Ricerca in Clinica e in Laboratorio, 1979
Because of the growing interest in 131Cs as a tracer for myocardium and thyroid scintigraphy, its internal disometry in man was reviewed and determined. The absorbed dose was calculated using the method of Loevinger and Berman, with minor modifications, i.e.

Radioiodine dosimetry

International Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Biology, 1981
The estimation of individual doses for radiation protection and for risk assessment puposes from a radioiodine intake requires a knowledge of the distribution and retention of the radioiodine (primarily in the thyroid), and a knowledge of the average energy deposited in each organ of interest per radioactive decay (S-factors).

International intercomparison for criticality dosimetry: the case of biological dosimetry

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2004
The Institute of Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) organized a biological dosimetry international intercomparison with the purpose of comparing (i) dicentrics yield produced in human lymphocytes; (ii) the gamma and neutron dose estimate according to the corresponding laboratory calibration curve.

Postal and clinical trial dosimetry

2017
The accurate planning and treatment of radiotherapy patients in accordance with a treatment protocol has been shown to impact treatment outcome and patient’s survival [1]. External audits of treatment plan quality and dosimetric accuracy are therefore very important tools in radiotherapy. Multicenter audits are used by radiotherapy centers and auditing

Dosimetry of the Gastrointestinal Tract

Health Physics, 1966
Abstract This paper briefly reviews the dosimetry of the GI tract given in ICRP Publication 2 and comments on certain aspects of it. New equations are derived for calculations of (MPC) w for the four sections of the GI tract. Values for (MPC) W are calculated from these equations using values for the parameters obtained from Eve.

Internal Radiation Dosimetry

1993
Radiation can cause detrimental effects on human tissues, and these effects depend on various factors, such as dose, dose rate, time of exposure and so on. This chapter describes the method of calculating absorbed doses in various organs from radionuclides ingested internally either purposely (e.g., medical procedures) or accidentally.
