Families of Dothideomycetes

Fungal Diversity, 2013
Dothideomycetes comprise a highly diverse range of fungi characterized mainly by asci with two wall layers (bitunicate asci) and often with fissitunicate dehiscence. Many species are saprobes, with many asexual states comprising important plant pathogens. They are also endophytes, epiphytes, fungicolous, lichenized, or lichenicolous fungi.

Molecular data place Trypetheliaceae in Dothideomycetes

Mycological Research, 2006
The phylogenetic position of Trypetheliaceae was studied using partial sequences of the mtSSU and nuLSU rDNA of 100 and 110 ascomycetes, respectively, including 48 newly obtained sequences. Our analysis confirms Trypetheliaceae as monophyletic and places the family in Dothideomycetes.

The status of Myriangiaceae (Dothideomycetes)

Phytotaxa, 2014
The family Myriangiaceae is relatively poorly known amongst the Dothideomycetes and includes genera which are saprobic, epiphytic and parasitic on the bark, leaves and branches of various plants. The family has not undergone any recent revision, however, molecular data has shown it to be a well-resolved family closely linked to Elsinoaceae in ...

6 Pezizomycotina: Dothideomycetes and Arthoniomycetes

2015
The modern concepts of Dothideomycetes and Arthoniomycetes can be traced back to Luttrell (Mycologia 47:511–532, 1955) who, relying on data from a number of previous publications, combined lichenized and nonlichenized fungi in a single class, Loculoascomycetes. A current concept of two separate classes, as well-defined sister taxa, is still new, but it
