Population structure and genetic diversity suggest recent introductions of Dothistroma pini in Slovakia

Plant Pathology, 2021
Abstract Dothistroma pini is one of two pathogens causing Dothistroma needle blight (DNB), a foliar disease of pines. The species was redefined in 2004 and subsequently recorded in several European countries. In Slovakia, the first report of the pathogen was in 2013.

High levels of dothistromin toxin produced by the forest pathogen Dothistroma pini

Mycological Research, 2000
The forest pathogen Dothistroma pini (Scirrhia pini) infects the needles of many pine species, causing needle loss and consequently retarded wood growth. Only one strain of Dothistroma pini is present in New Zealand. Because over 90% of commercial forests in New Zealand are planted with the susceptible species Pinus radiata, a study of the global ...

Fungistaxic effects of Pinus radiata needle epicuticular fatty and resin acids on Dothistroma pini

Physiological Plant Pathology, 1983
Abstract Bioassays of selected fatty and resin acids using Dothistroma pini as test organism have shown that a long chain fatty acid (stearic), ω-hydroxy fatty acids and oxidized resin acids (7-keto, 7-hydroxy dehydroabietic acid, 13-hydroxypodocarpa-8,11,13-trien-18-oic acid) are highly fungistatic. The compounds inhibited both D.

Spore germination and growth in culture of Dothistroma pini var. Keniensis

Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1967
Spore germination of Dothistroma pini Hulbary var. keniensis Ivory is shown to require trace quantities of organic nitrogenous substances in the germination medium. Germination occurs within the pH range 2·2–5·5 and the temperature range 8–25°C, with optima of pH 3·5 and 18°C respectively. Light was found to exert no significant effect.
