Persuasion Should be Double-Blind: A Multi-Domain Dialogue Dataset With Faithfulness Based on Causal Theory of Mind [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Persuasive dialogue plays a pivotal role in human communication, influencing various domains. Recent persuasive dialogue datasets often fail to align with real-world interpersonal interactions, leading to unfaithful representations. For instance, unrealistic scenarios may arise, such as when the persuadee explicitly instructs the persuader on which ...

Universal Hydrogel Carrier Enhances Bone Graft Success: Preclinical and Clinical Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
TX hydrogel improves the delivery of different types of particulate bone grafts, maintaining them at the implantation sites, and resulting in favorable bone regenerative outcomes. Abstract Orthopedic, maxillofacial, and complex dentoalveolar bone grafting procedures that require donor‐site bone harvesting can be associated with post‐surgical ...

Hydrogel‐Impregnated Robust Interlocking Nano Connector (HiRINC) for Noninvasive Anti‐Migration of Esophageal Stent

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The development of hydrogel‐impregnated robust interlocking nano connector (HiRINC) aims to address stent migration by improving tissue adhesion and reducing mechanical mismatch in self‐expandable metallic stents (SEMSs). The network‐like porous layer of HiRINC enhances adhesion and energy dissipation, demonstrates through ex vivo and in vivo tests ...

An efficient method for calculation of cooling in Lagrange computational gas dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
A new method for computation of gas cooling for Lagrange approach is suggested. The method is based on precalculation of cooling law for known cooling function. Unlike implicit methods, this method is very efficient, it is an one-step method which is even more accurate than implicit methods of the same order.

Protein‐Like Polymers Targeting Keap1/Nrf2 as Therapeutics for Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We describe a Keap1 targeting protein‐like polymer (PLP) which activates Nrf2, an important cytoprotective transcription factor for relieving myocardial infarction‐induced oxidative stress. This PLP increases cell survival in vitro in multiple relevant cardiac cell types and elicits pro‐reparative responses, improving cardiac function in a preclinical ...

FRAST: TFHE-Friendly Cipher Based on Random S-Boxes

open access: yesIACR Transactions on Symmetric Cryptology
A transciphering framework, also known as hybrid homomorphic encryption, is a practical method of combining a homomorphic encryption (HE) scheme with a symmetric cipher in the client-server model to reduce computational and communication overload on the

Equivalence of Weak Galerkin Methods and Virtual Element Methods for Elliptic Equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
We propose a modification of the weak Galerkin methods and show its equivalence to a new version of virtual element methods. We also show the original weak Galerkin method is equivalent to the non-conforming virtual element method. As a consequence, ideas and techniques used for one method can be transferred to another. The key of the connection is the

Functional Optical Fibers with Tailored Side Emission from Modified Rod‐in‐Tube Preforms

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
A modified rod‐in‐tube method enables fabrication of functional optical fibers with tailored light‐diffusing properties. The approach incorporates optically active species at a well‐defined radial position within an otherwise homogeneous fiber core. Using lanthanide ions and noble metal nanoparticles as active species demonstrates wavelength conversion

'Which treatment do you believe you received?' A randomised blinding feasibility trial of spinal manual therapy

open access: yesChiropractic & Manual Therapies
Background Blinding is essential for mitigating biases in trials of low back pain (LBP). Our main objectives were to assess the feasibility of blinding: (1) participants randomly allocated to active or placebo spinal manual therapy (SMT), and (2) outcome
