Relocation of the 1998 Zhangbei-Shangyi earthquake sequence using the double difference earthquake location algorithm

Acta Seismologica Sinica, 2004
On January 10, 1998, at 11h50min Beijing Time (03h50min UTC), an earthquake ofM L=6.2 occurred in the border region between the Zhangbei County and Shangyi County of Hebei Province. This earthquake is the most significant event to have occurred in northern China in the recent years.

Preliminary results of teleseismic double-difference relocation of earthquakes around Indonesian archipelago region

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
Indonesian archipelago region is located in active tectonic setting and high seismicity zone. During the last decade, Indonesian was experienced with destructive major earthquakes causing damage and victims. The information of precise earthquake location parameters are very important in partular for earthquake early warning to the society and for ...

Earthquake hypocenter relocation using double difference method in East Java and surrounding areas

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
Determination of precise hypocenter location is very important in order to provide information about subsurface fault plane and for seismic hazard analysis. In this study, we have relocated hypocenter earthquakes in Eastern part of Java and surrounding areas from local earthquake data catalog compiled by Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical ...

Relocation of the Bachu‐Jiashi, Xinjiang Earthquake Sequence in 2003 Using the Double‐Difference Location Algorithm

Chinese Journal of Geophysics, 2006
AbstractCombining the data recorded at the mobile seismic network with those from the regional network, we relocated 404 aftershocks of ML ≥3.5 of the 2003 Bachu‐Jiashi, Xinjiang MS6.8 earthquake by the double‐difference method and made theoretical analysis of the feasibility. We got a result of significant improvement.

CHARACTERISTICS OF SEISMICITY OF THE XIAOWAN RESERVOIR IN AN AREA OF ACTIVE TECTONICS FROM DOUBLE‐DIFFERENCE RELOCATION ANALYSIS

Chinese Journal of Geophysics, 2016
AbstractWe simultaneously relocate the M ≥ 1.0 earthquakes occurred from July 2005 to December 2014 in Xiaowan reservoir area, which is located in an active tectonic region in the middle and lower section of Lancang Jiang in western Yunnan province of China, using cross‐correlation (CC) and double‐difference (DD) method.

Earthquake relocation in Mollucas Sea using teleseismic double difference method for tectonic setting analysis

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
Earthquake hypocenter relocation is need to be done to get a better earthquake location with high accuracy so tectonic setting, and seismicity analysis can be get and done for further studies. One of some method to relocate earthquake is teleseismic Double-Difference that used 3D velocity model.

Double-difference earthquake relocation of Charlevoix seismicity, Eastern Canada and implication for regional geological structures

2014
Eastern Canada is located within the North American Plate and, therefore, should have a relatively low rate of earthquake activity compared with interplate boundary. However, large earthquakes do occur in the region, especially in the Charlevoix Seismic Zone (CSZ) located about 100km downstream from Quebec City.
