Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Application of Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines for individual tree estimation of scots pine trees in Sisorta Forest Management Planning Unit

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Forestry
This study aimed to develop single-entry and double-entry tree volume prediction models, as well as prediction models based on Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (MARS) methodology, for estimating individual tree stem volumes in Scots pine (Pinus ...

Theory of double entry in accounting

open access: yesEconomics. Finances. Law, 2020
The paper considers the existing theories of double entry, which took place at different historical stages of the existence of the accounting science. The main attention is paid to legal, economic, philosophical and balance theories. As a result of their analysis, it was found that the process of theoretical cognition of the double entry had natural ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Design and analysis of a nozzle-less twin-entry turbine volute for automobile application

open access: yese-Prime: Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy
Due to the increasing demand for improved fuel economy in passenger cars, recent internal combustion engines come with a turbocharger. Turbochargers are a method of engine downsizing that forces more compressed air into the combustion chamber, enabling a

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
