Homogenization in Sobolev Spaces with Nonstandard Growth: Brief Review of Methods and Applications
We review recent results on the homogenization in Sobolev spaces with variable exponents. In particular, we are dealing with the Γ-convergence of variational functionals with rapidly oscillating coefficients, the homogenization of the Dirichlet and ...

Selective Benzene Capture by Metal‐Organic Frameworks
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) hold significant potential for capturing benzene from air emissions and hydrocarbon mixtures in liquid phases. This capability stems from their precisely engineered structures, versatile chemistries, and diverse binding interactions.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Homogenized Model of Two-Phase Flow with Local Nonequilibrium in Double Porosity Media
We consider two-phase flow in a heterogeneous porous medium with highly permeable fractures and low permeable periodic blocks. The flow in the blocks is assumed to be in local capillary disequilibrium and described by Barenblatt’s relaxation ...

For the first time, a highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor based on SiO2‐based hairy particles with a grafted PDMAEMA polymer brush containing a quantifiable and large amount of immobilized Laccase is reported. The fabricated biosensor exhibits a sensitivity of 0.14 A·m⁻¹, a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.1 µm, and a detection range of 0.3–750 µm,

Homogenized model with memory for two-phase compressible flow in double-porosity media
A completely averaged model of two-phase flow of compressible fluids in a medium with double porosity is developed. The variational asymptotic two-scale averaging method with splitting the nonlocality and nonlinearity is presented.

Scattering of plane transverse waves by spherical inclusions in a poroelastic medium [PDF]
The scattering of plane transverse waves by a spherical inclusion embedded in an infinite poroelastic medium is treated for the first time in this paper.

Dynamic Properties of Double Porosity/Permeability Model
Abstract Understanding fluid movement in multi-pored materials is vital for energy security and physiology. For instance, shale (a geological material) and bone (a biological material) exhibit multiple pore networks. Double porosity/permeability models provide a mechanics-based approach to describe hydrodynamics in aforesaid porous ...
