Multilayer cotton fabric porosity and its infl uence on permeability properties [PDF]

open access: yesTekstilec, 2018
Apart from their soft feel and good water absorbency, cotton fabrics are also characterised by good heat conductivity, air permeability and breathing. By increasing the open surface of one-layer fabrics, their air and water vapour permeability, and heat ...

Approximating the wave moduli of double porosity media at low frequencies by a single Zener or Kelvin-Voigt element [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The analytic transient acoustic wave solution and dispersion characteristics for the double-porosity model are obtained over the whole frequency range for a homogeneous medium.

On the uniqueness and analyticity in viscoelasticity with double porosity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper we analyze the system of equations that models the behaviour of materials with a double porous structure. We introduce dissipation mechanisms in both structures. We show existence, uniqueness and analyticity for the solutions of the system.

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Upscaling of a double porosity problem with jumps in thin porous media

open access: yesApplicable Analysis, 2020
We study the homogenization of a double porosity diffusion problem in a thin highly heterogeneous composite medium formed by two materials separated by an imperfect interface, where the solution and its flux exhibit jumps.

Theory of Filtration in a Double Porosity Medium

open access: yesDoklady Earth Sciences, 2019
This paper defines a generalized mathematical model of filtration in a double porosity medium, taking into ac- count recent ideas on liquid and gas flow in rocks with an anomalously low permeability (including nanoporous rocks). The obtained generalized equation takes into consideration, in contrast to the classical model, the integral effects of ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

Green-Lindsay thermoelasticity for double porous materials

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2023
The main purpose of this paper is to obtain new results in the thermoelasticity for double porous materials, starting from the classical theory of Green-Lindsay’s elasticity. The novelty of the proposed method consists in proving a reciprocal theorem and

Derivation of a macroscopic model for transport of strongly sorbed solutes in the soil using homogenization theory

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we derive a model for the diffusion of strongly sorbed solutes in soil taking into account diffusion within both the soil fluid phase and the soil particles.
