Texture and magnetic properties of double-roller meltspun Fe6.5wt%Si ribbons

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2003
Abstract Texture and magnetic properties of double-roller meltspun FeSi6.5% ribbons were investigated. Thin ribbons show a strong {1 0 0}〈0 v w〉 texture in the as-quenched state which develops to a {1 0 0}〈1 3 0〉 texture after annealing at 1200°C. The magnetic losses and the coercivity decrease by a factor of 2–3 due to annealing; they are somewhat ...

Development of a rapid solidification process with a double-roller method

Materials Science and Engineering, 1988
Abstract A thin strip caster has been developed which consists of twin cooling rollers, a secondary cooling zone, tension control systems and a continuous-coiling machine. With this caster, fine crystalline strips were continuously produced to a near-net shape whose dimensions were 0.2–1 mm in thickness, 250–500 mm in width and 500 kg in unit coil ...

Analysis of Rapid Solidification Process in The Double-Roller Method

MRS Proceedings, 1985
ABSTRACTHigh-silicon steel was rapidly solidified to thin strips by the double roller method. Two typical macrostructures were observed: one with an equiaxed zone and the other without. The formation of the equiaxed zone is caused by an excessive gap between the rollers.
