A Mathematical Model for Parametric Tooth Profile of Spur Gears

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Spur gears are widely used transmission components. In the traditional design process, the noninvolute part of the tooth profile curve is difficult to describe with mathematical equations. This article puts forward a new parametric modeling method, which can describe the modified involute part of spur gears and parameterize and optimize the transition ...

Parameterized High‐Precision Finite Element Modelling Method of 3D Helical Gears with Contact Zone Refinement

open access: yesShock and Vibration, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
In order to perform a tooth contact analysis of helical gears with satisfactory accuracy and computational time consuming, a parameterized approach to establish a high‐precision three‐dimension (3D) finite element model (FEM) of involute helical gears is proposed.

Generation and Meshing Analysis of a New Type of Double Helical Gear Transmission

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
A study on the double helical gear transmission with curve element constructed tooth pairs is carried out in this paper. Generation and mathematical model of tooth profiles are proposed based on the geometric relationship. Tooth profiles equations are derived considering the developed equidistance‐enveloping approach.

ANALYSIS OF STRESS RELIEVING FEATURES OF ASYMMETRICSPUR GEAR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Gears are commonly used for transmitting power. They develop high stress concentration at the root and the point of contact. The repeated stressing on the fillets causes the fatigue failure of gear tooth. If gear fails in tensile fatigue, the results are
