Regional growth patterns of fetal corpus callosum at 18–32 weeks' gestation assessed by three‐dimensional transvaginal neurosonography

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the normal development of the fetal corpus callosum (CC) between 18 and 32 weeks' gestation using three‐dimensional (3D) transvaginal neurosonography and to assess the effect of volume contrast imaging (VCI) on the measurement of fetal CC biometry.

Growth trajectory and miscarriage diagnosis threshold in early IVF pregnancy: multicenter study

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To characterize early‐pregnancy ultrasound findings in pregnancies conceived via in‐vitro fertilization (IVF) for which gestational age is known precisely based on the date of embryo transfer (ET), and to examine their association with first‐trimester pregnancy outcome.

Quantitative collagen and proteoglycan imaging reveal organic layering, gradients and regional texture in young mature dental cementum

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Cementum, the mineralized tissue covering all mammalian tooth roots, helps maintain tooth stability, but its internal organization is still poorly understood. In this study, we combine quantitative histologial methods to map the regional distributions of collagen fibers and proteoglycan‐rich matrix layers in porcine cementum.

Tree cover and geographic origin of tree species drive bird functional groups in urban environments

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Urban trees provide habitat and resources for wild species in cities and support biodiversity provision of ecosystem services, among which insect control is particularly relevant. Predators of insects are promoted by the presence of trees and, in turn, may enhance biosecurity of the trees.

Behavioral response of moose Alces alces to summer heat stress

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Minnesota moose are heat‐stressed during summers, which is adversely impacting their survival. We used both movement and activity data to explore the behavioral responses of Minnesota moose experiencing heat stress, termed ‘hot moose events' or HMEs, to understand how both ambient temperature and available habitat contribute to the ability of these ...

Reactivity of Alkali Metal Yldiides Toward Carbon Disulfide

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
α‐Metalated ylides react readily with CS2, allowing easy and high‐yielding isolation of alkali‐metal dithiolate salts, which could be analyzed by single‐crystal XRD analysis. Conversion of the dithiolate salts to alkynyl sulfide anions through thermal or photochemical activation revealed to be difficult and substituent‐dependent, leading to both C─P ...

Retention behavior of double-crown attachments with zirconia primary and secondary crowns

Dental Materials, 2016
To investigate whether adequate retention of zirconia conical crown (CC) attachments can be achieved, and to investigate their long-term retention.Sixteen individual zirconia primary crowns were produced with convergence angles of 1° or 2° (eight of each).
