Photovisual magnitude differences of double stars [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysics and Space Science, 1965
AbstractDifferences in magnitudes between the components of 874 double stars have been derived from visual estimates on several series of multi-exposure photographic plates. The plates were obtained with long focus refractors primarily for the purpose of determining the relative positions of double stars according to the well-known Hertzsprung method.

The different faces of branes in double field theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Abstract We show how the Wess-Zumino terms of the different branes in string theory can be embedded within double field theory. Crucial ingredients in our construction are the identification of the correct brane charge tensors and the use of the double field theory potentials that arise from dualizing the standard double field ...

Collaborative Double Difference Sparse Regularization and Convex Optimization for Bearing Fault Detection

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
The localized faults of bearings often produce a series of periodic impacts. However, how to extract these repetitive transients from the signals with strong noise interference is still a challenging problem.

Doubling measures with different bases [PDF]

open access: yesColloquium Mathematicum, 1998
If \(A>1\) is an integer, then an \(A\)-adic interval is an interval having endpoints \(j/A^n\) and \((j+ 1)/A^n\) for some integers \(n\) and \(j\). A measure \(\mu\) on \(\mathbb{R}\) is called an \(A\)-adic doubling measure if there is a constant \(\lambda= \lambda(\mu)\) such that \(\mu(I)\leq \lambda\mu(J)\) for all \(A\)-adic intervals \(I\) and \

RTK Kinematic Positioning Accuracy with Double Phase Difference of SIS GNSS Signals

open access: yesCommunications, 2021
The article presents results of verification of the kinematic measurements usefulness for precise real-time positioning RTK in the local reference system. These measurements allow for continuous RTK measurements in the event of temporary interruptions in

VESUVIO—the double difference inverse geometry spectrometer at ISIS [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica B: Condensed Matter, 2004
The VESUVIO spectrometer at the ISIS pulsed neutron source performs inelastic neutron scattering at high-energy and wave vector transfers, employing gold and uranium resonant foils. A factor of two improvement in the instrumental resolution has been achieved by making use of the double filter difference method.

Multiple Periodic Solutions for Difference Equations with Double Resonance at Infinity

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2011
By using variational methods and Morse theory, we study the multiplicity of the periodic solutions for a class of difference equations with double resonance at infinity.

Molecular Implications of Evolutionary Differences in CHD Double Chromodomains [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Biology, 2007
Double chromodomains occur in CHD proteins, which are ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling factors implicated in RNA polymerase II transcription regulation. Biochemical studies suggest important differences in the histone H3 tail binding of different CHD chromodomains. In human and Drosophila, CHD1 double chromodomains bind lysine 4-methylated histone H3

Seismic imaging of the double seismic zone in the subducting slab in Northern Chile

open access: yesEarthquake Research Advances, 2021
Double seismic zones are commonly observed in the subducting slabs in a global scale, serving as ideal examples for studying the seismogenetic mechanism of the intermediate-depth earthquakes.
