A variational approach to double‐porosity problems [PDF]

open access: possibleAsymptotic Analysis, 2004
The present paper outlines an approach by \(\Gamma\)-convergence to some problems related to ``double-porosity'' homogenization. In the framework of the authors, the homogenization process involves the analysis of energies defined on some (mutually disconnected) highly oscillating connected sets, in whose complement an energy density satisfying weaker ...

Singular Double Porosity Model

Applicable Analysis, 2003
We consider the linear parabolic equation describing the transport of a contaminant in a porous media crossed by a net of infinitely thin fractures. The permeability is very high in the fractures but very low in the porous blocks. We derive the homogenized model corresponding to a net of infinitely thin fractures, by means of the singular measures ...

3D PRINTED SOUND-ABSORBING MATERIALS WITH DOUBLE POROSITY

Inter-Noise 2022, 2023
The paper shows that acoustic materials with double porosity can be 3D printed with the appropriate design of the main pore network and the contrasted micro-porous skeleton. The microporous structure is obtained through the use of appropriate additive manufacturing (AM) technology, raw material, and process parameters.

Double Porosity Biot Theory Extension

70th EAGE Conference and Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2008, 2008
Reservoir stones are generally a porous medium, heterogeneous, fractured and saturated with oil, gas or water. The analysis of wave propagation on these media is carried out using the Biot-Gassman theory for porous media and an extended Biot's theory for fractured porous medium.

Acoustic wave propagation in double porosity media

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2003
A study of the propagation of waves in porous media with an interconnected network of pores and micropores of very different characteristic sizes, saturated by a compressible Newtonian fluid, is proposed. With this aim, the homogenization technique for periodic separated scales media, is applied to realistic double porosity materials with motionless ...

Double‐porosity homogenization for perimeter functionals

Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2009
AbstractIn this paper we are concerned with the overall description of interfacial energies in a composite environment where the local properties of the media are characterized by a large variation of the values of surface tension (double‐porosity homogenization). We prove some asymptotic results in terms of Γ‐convergence for a sequence of functionals ...
