Theory of membrane capacitive deionization including the effect of the electrode pore space [PDF]
Membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI) is a technology for water desalination based on applying an electrical field between two oppositely placed porous electrodes.

Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

2.5-D poroelastic wave modelling in double porosity media [PDF]
To approximate seismic wave propagation in double porosity media, the 2.5-D governing equations of poroelastic waves are developed and numerically solved.

The work demonstrates that strategic wall‐thickness grading in diamond triply periodic minimal surface lattices enables precise tuning of deformation and failure behavior under compression. Different gradation patterns guide how and where the structure collapses, improving energy absorption or promoting controlled brittle failure.

COUPLED ANALYSIS OF DOUBLE POROSITY SWELLING CLAYS
The understanding of the coupled behaviour of highly active swelling clays is better achieved considering two structural levels and their interactions in the context of a double-porosity model. Hydraulic equilibrium between the two porosity levels is not assumed.

In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

Homogenized model for flow in partially fractured media
We derive rigorously a homogenized model for the displacement of one compressible miscible fluid by another in a partially fractured porous reservoir. We denote by $epsilon$ the characteristic size of the heterogeneity in the medium.

Elastic Equilibrium of Porous Cosserat Media with Double Porosity
The static equilibrium of porous elastic materials with double porosity is considered in the case of an elastic Cosserat medium. The corresponding three-dimensional system of differential equations is derived.

Acoustic double refraction in low-porosity rocks [PDF]
Anisotropy in physical properties of rocks can arise from preferred mineral orientation, mineral layering, nonhydrostatic stress, and anisotropic crack distribution.

On-sample water content measurement for a complete local monitoring in triaxial testing of unsaturated soils [PDF]
To provide a complete local monitoring of the state of an unsaturated soil sample during triaxial testing, a local water content measurement device was adapted to a triaxial device comprising the measurement of local displacements (Hall effect ...
