Abstract The present investigation deals with the effect of Severe Double Shot Peening (SDSP) of Peening pre-weldment and Post peening weldment on microstructure properties of Ti 6Al-4V and Titanium Grade 2 dissimilar joint made by laser beam welding. Laser beam welding was performed for butt joint configuration.

Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 2000
The technique of shot peening is commonly used to increase the fatigue limit of a steel. However, there are many practical difficulties in applying it to very high HV steel and complicated components. To overcome these problems, the authors proposed two new methods: stress double shot peening and stress reflection double shot peening.

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2021
Shot peening is widely used in the aeronautical industry to enhance the fatigue life of the parts and form large, thin, and complex components, such as wing and fuselage skins. Previous research on peen forming simulation has rarely considered the influence of the shot peening sequence on the resulting deformed shape.

Flexible Sheet Forming Technology by Double-sided Simultaneous Shot Peen Forming
CIRP Annals, 2002Abstract The exceptionally flexible forming technology shot peen forming is used primarily on large, three-dimensionally curved sheet metal in the aircraft and aerospace industries. Depending on the kinetic shot energy, both convex and concave curvatures will be generated.
